The Solution

A new agreement with growers to provide greater certainty and shoring up our industry’s future.

The key terms

Voluntary buy-out

Accolade will buy out a portion of CCW contracts at $4,000/ha, for those growers wishing to exit.

Relief from CCW’s bulk wine contract

Accolade would buy out the “Direct Contract” bulk wine deal CCW has for bulk wine export.

Supply-demand balance

Accolade’s total contracted volumes with CCW will be reduced to 150,000 tonnes, providing greater certainty to all CCW growers.

Pricing

Prices will be transparently set by the Weighted District Average.

Planning certainty

The tenure of Accolade’s contract with CCW will be 10 years with option for additional terms of 5 years – substantial notice periods.

Flexibility

Participating growers would be free to keep their vines and sell grapes to others, should they wish.

The benefits

Participation in the buy-out is voluntary and flexible for growers.

Removes the significant financial burden of the bulk wine contract from CCW.

Growers will have greater business certainty and the ability to plan for the future.

Enables a sustainable and ongoing source of demand for Riverland growers’ grapes.

The only option that allows CCW’s growers and Accolade to remain viable.

Those who wish to exit the industry can do so, while those who want to continue can do so with greater certainty.
